Top 3 Tips for Maximizing Your Workouts & Giveaway
First things first. I mentioned in my last post that I would be running a little giveaway so I can send a few lucky people (3) some Valslides to help them reach their fitness goals. The giveaway will begin this Friday, March 12 and I will post the details then.
Now, in the meantime I would like to share with you my #1 tip for maximizing your workouts. There are a lot of ways to make your workouts more effective, but many of them don’t really make a difference until you are more experienced.
So I would like to share with you today my top 3 tips for getting the maximum benefit from your fat burning workouts.
1. Have a plan – This is key to actually getting results. If you don’t have a plan when you begin your workout, you’ll spend too much time thinking about what you should do next and debating which exercises to do, and your workout will be very ineffective.
I recommend following a specific plan that has been proven effective, like the one in Combat the Fat, rather than simply making up your own workouts as different combinations of exercises have been proven more effective for burning fat. However, any plan is better than no plan.
2. Workout right after you wake up – Before you have breakfast, before you get ready for your day, before yo u do anything else (except possibly use the washroom). When you first wake up is when your workout will have maximum effects. It will kickstart your body and get it going so that you’ll burn more throughout the day.
There are a few other reasons why right when you wake up is the most effective time to workout, but the point is you should make it a priority to do your workouts right when you get up in the morning, before doing anything else. And you should eat right after doing your workout so your body has something to feed it’s recovery.
3. Get up earlier – Now that you’re planning to do your workouts right when you get up, focus on getting up earlier. Our bodies function much more efficiently if we go to bed & get up earlier. Being a “night owl” this one is hard for me, but when I shifted from going to be at 3 AM and getting up at 12 PM to going to bed at 1 AM and getting up at 10 AM I noticed a major difference in how I felt and how productive I was throughout the day. Now, I am still working on shifting my sleep and my target is to get up at 7 AM, but I am not there yet. However, I do know from experience (and it’s been proven time and time again) that getting up earlier makes your body function more efficiently, and will make your workout more effective.
It may take some time to get used to these 3 things and to make them habit, but I know for a fact that once you apply these 3 tips you will notice a major difference in the effectiveness of your workouts.
If you don’t have a workout regime that you are following right now, I highly recommend Combat the Fat. It’s the same program I personally use when I want to slim down, and it’s the one my sister has been following for her weight loss.
Tomorrow I’ll be posting one of the biggest secrets to burning fat that you probably already knew, but have been neglecting.
