Valband Exercises
Here are 6 exercises that can be performed with the Valband:
Valband One Arm Row
Hold the Valband in one hand straight out in front of you. Grab the other end of the Valband with your other hand and pull it towards your waist. Return to the starting position slowly.
Valband Two Arm Row
This is an easy exercise and is for beginners or those recovering from an injury. It’s just a slight bit of resistance, nothing really hard.
And yes, this was done in my laundry room (that is the furnace in the background). It’s the only doorknob in my house that has room to do the exercise & get a camera set up.
Hook one of the Valband around a doorknob or another object that won’t move. Grab the other end of the Valband with both hands and pull it towards your chest. Return to the starting position.
Valband Side Step
Start by standing with your feet shoulder width apart, Valband around your ankles. Basically walk sideways (taking side steps) for a predermined distance (across the room, 10 yards, etc.) and return to the starting position (taking side steps in the reverse direction).
Valband Side Leg Lift
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart, Valband around your ankles. Lift one leg out to the side slowly as high as you can (be careful not to lose your balance) and then slowly return it to the ground. Repeat for set number of reps and switch legs.
Valband Rear Leg Lift
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart, Valband around your ankles. Lift one leg up behind you slowly as high as you can keeping your leg as straight as possible (again, be careful not to lose your balance) and then slowly return it to the ground. Repeat for set number of reps and switch legs.
Valband March
Place the Valband around your thighs and march a set distance. Be sure to keep your legs from getting squeezed together by the Valband.
And that concludes the Valslide/Valband series! Next up – Contest time! Now that you know all about the Valslide & Valband and you know 25 exercises that can be performed with the Valslide and 6 that can be performed with the Valband, it’s time to get them into YOUR hands.
